Abstract: This thesis project mainly aims to provide the idea behind geotourism and its development from grassroots level to global attention. Case-studies, best practices, and literature reviews are researched and analyzed to understand the roots of geotourism principles. Through site visits and surveys, a clear picture of Angadippuram Grama panchayath is well understood. The richness of abiotic, biotic and cultural elements of this particular area has been thoroughly studied to understand the potentials and possibilities of geotourism. From the basic understanding of panchayath, a matrix that grows from the literatures is built on a broader level and it is integrated with the scientific method to get the idea behind the educational values, culture, conservation and aesthetics of an untapped destination. Possibilities and potential are raised through site analysis. The scientific analysis has given a broader vision of the development of this destination and the development strategies are also mentioned in the framework of the thesis.
